‘Hitler’s Paintings’ Go Unsold at Auction

A number of Paintings which were attributed to Adolf Hitler, failed to sell at controversial auction on Saturday thwarted by allegations of forgery in the southern German city of Nuremberg.
The artworks that were on sale have received no bids which had starting prices of between 19,000 euros up to 45,000 euros, the Nuremberger Nachrichten newspaper reported on Sunday.
Among items that went unsold were a painting of landscape and a wicker chair with a swastika symbol said to have belonged to Hitler.
It comes after, when prosecutors three days before seized 63 other paintings attributed to Hitler form the auction house to investigate alleged forgery.
Bidders then reportedly came from Germany, China, France, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates.
