Herat – Health Officials say there have been at least 650 cancer cases registered in the province within the last year.
Mohammad Arif Jalali, Cancer Specialist at Provincial Hospital, said to Killid among the 650 cancer patients, 150 of which are women with uterine cancer and 60 other with breast cancer patients have been registered at hospital.
He exclaimed, 40% of these patients were treated within the country, while the rest are transferred abroad for treatment.
According to the Physician, ten died of cancer due to severe stages, and cites limited equipment and facilities for diagnosing the disease a major challenge.
According to the Ministry of Public Health statistics in 2018, about 30-40 thousand cancer patients have been recorded, of which 15 thousand have lost their lives.
