Gov’t Decision on Next Ceasefire with Taliban Not Finalized: Executive Office

The Executive office of National Unity Government (NUG) says the decision about the next ceasefire with Taliban during the upcoming Eidul Adha has not been finalized so far.

The deputy spokesman of Chief Executive, Omid Maisam told Killid that talks and bargainings are underway about the next ceasefire with the Taliban group in Eildul Adha.

Maisam noted the government and people are expected the Taliban group to show eager for the next ceasefire too.

“The possible ceasefire during the Eidul Adha will be announced for achieving peace and stability in the country,” Maisam said.

He added the government seeks to show the armed oppositions, the International Community and citizens that with the announcement of ceasefire with Taliban, the government wants peace and stability instead of war.

This comes as during his speech in Kapisa, President Ashraf Ghani has declared the government will soon take decision about the next ceasefire with Taliban.
