Voters Registration Process Officially Ended

The Independent Election Commission (IEC) has announced that the voters’ registration process for the parliamentary and provincial council election officially ended today.

Sayed Hafizullah Hashemi, IEC spokesman and secretary in a press conference in Kabul said that 9,073,208 people have registered for the election so far.

Hashemi declared, of the figure 3,114942 of them are women.

According to IEC information, most of the registered were from Kabul province and less figure of registration was in Ghazni province.

Hashemi added that the final list of parliamentary election candidates will be announced August 13 of the current month.

The Independent Electoral Complaint Commission has earlier said that the announcement of the final list of candidates will face a delay.
