Local officials in Nangarhar said that 71 Taliban insurgents were either killed or injured in Afghan security forces’ operations in Bati Kot district over the past 24 hours.
Ataullah Khogyani, provincial governor’s spokesman, told Killid that 46 Taliban insurgents were killed and 25 injured over the past 24 hours.
Khogyani added that eight suspects were also arrested by Afghan forces.
“There were no civilian or military casualties,” Khogyani stated.
Taliban militants are yet to comment on the statement.
