Twenty women officials of the Afghan National Army (ANA) will complete a training course in the Indian city of Chennai, India on December 23.
The female ANA personnel embarked on the 20-day training programme on December 4 at Officers Training Academy in Chennai, the Press Trust of India reported.
Serving in combat role, the women have also inspired their Indian counterparts, who are also interested in serving on the frontline, according to the news outlet.
The women officers were seen getting trained on handling the AK-47 assault rifles handling ambush situations in mountainous terrain through classroom simulation exercises. They were also taught computer proficiency lessons.
