Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah’s office said the government would probably close the Taliban’s office in Qatar as it has received reports which show the address is used for propaganda and other purposes in favor of the group.
Jawed Faisal, deputy spokesman for the chief executive, said that the government has started investigating the reports about the office and it will act accordingly and the assessments are completed.
Faisal added that the office will be closed if the allegations about seeking financial resources to the group through the address are true.
Last week, the High Peace Council Chairman Mohammad Karim Khalili said the council is ready to start peace talks with the Taliban without any pre-conditions.
He said the Taliban can open their office, for the peace talks, in any part of the world “and even in Kabul”.
