Military operations codenamed ‘Pamir 14’ have been launched against Taliban insurgents in Imam Saheb district of Kunduz province since last Friday.
Head of Pamir 20 Division General Sayed Qurban Mausavi told media that 107 Taliban insurgents were either killed or injured over the past 72 hours.
He added that 59 Taliban insurgents were killed and 48 injured; among those were Taliban prominent commanders as well.
Meanwhile Mahbobullah Sayedi, district governor of Imam Saheb, said that the operations have been going on successfully.
He added that the operations will be going on until all the areas in the district are cleared of insurgents.
Taliban militants are yet to comment.
