A man killed his wife in Tirinkot, provincial capital of Uruzgan province, yesterday.
Col. Dil Agha, police chief of the first municipality district of Tirinkot, said the man after beheading his wife had managed to flee along with his three children.
Police, however, have launched a manhunt in the area.
An official at the Civil Hospital said the slain woman previously worked in the hospital as nurse and she was currently examining patients at her private clinic.
It was the fifth woman to be killed in Uruzgan this year.
