Ghani on Official Two-day Trip to Uzbekistan

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, along with a high level delegation, departed on an official visit to Uzbekistan yesterday evening.
A press release from ARG (Presidential Palace) stated that during the trip, President Ghani is expected to meet President Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Abdullah Aripov of Uzbekistan and discuss wide range of issues pertaining to mutual interests and development and cooperation. A joint statement by the two countries will be released after the meeting.
Bilateral relations, long-term cooperation and views on key international and regional security issues will be discussed in the meetings between the two sides.
A joint statement by the heads of government, along with many intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents aimed at further enhancing bilateral cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, transport and communication, scientific and education and other sectors, as well some commercial contracts are expected to be signed during the visit.
The Afghan president is also expected to visit Bukhara, where he will meet and address students of the Bukhara State University.
