At least 12 Taliban insurgents were killed and 16 injured in a joint military operation conducted by Afghan security forces in Farah province.
Iqbal Baher, spokesman for Farah police, said that the operation was conducted in Shewan area of Balablok district.
Baher added that there were no casualties among Afghan security forces.
Taliban militants are yet to comment.
