Afghanistan and Azerbaijan signed five agreements in different sectors on the sidelines of Heart of Asia Conference in Baku yesterday.
A press release from ARG (Presidential Palace) stated that President Ashraf Ghani met with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev in Baku and both discussed different issues including the improvement of ties between the two countries.
Ghani and Aliyev discussed the opportunities on cooperation in transportation, agriculture and Afghanistan-Azerbaijan joint investments and concluded that working groups from both nations should start working on implementation of the agreements.
“The agreements were signed on Economic and Trade, Promotion and Mutual Investment Support, Security and Law Enforcement, Education and Higher Education and Air Services,” read the statement.
At the end of the two presidents’ meeting, their delegations signed the five agreements.
