The foundation stone of a modern cricket ground was laid in the capital of Helmand province yesterday.
Afghanistan Cricket Board director Shukrullah Atif Mashal on Friday said that the cricket ground will take two years to compete in Safyan area of Lashkargah at a cost of 650,000 USD being provided by the Ministry of Counter-narcotic.
He said other facilities like a cricket academy and others will also be established by the cricket board.
Mashal added that the people of Helmand loved cricket and some will be able to make it to the national team with their talent.
