Czech Republic ambassador in Kabul Petr Štěpánek expressed his country’s willingness to support and contribute to rehabilitation of the cement factory in western Herat province and reviving urban transport service in Kabul.
A statement from the Chief Executive’s office said that the newly-appointed ambassador made these remarks during a meeting with CEO Abdullah Abdullah yesterday.
The statement quoted Štěpánek as saying his country was still providing military support to Afghanistan under NATO’s Resolute Support (RS) mission besides providing training to Afghanistan Air Forces personnel in his country.
He also promised further cooperation in transit and trade and other spheres to Afghanistan.
Abdullah at the meeting told the Ambassador that Afghanistan was in favor of having expanded bilateral cooperation with Czech Republic.
The CEO said in addition to military support; increased cooperation in other fields such as trade, transit and urban transport were of vital importance for Afghanistan.
