Security officials in Farah reported that eight policemen were killed last night.
Iqbal Baher, spokesman for Farah police, told Killid that Taliban militants attacked a police check post in central part of the province.
He added that Afghan security forces soon arrived in the area and pushed back Talban insurgents.
Taliban militants are yet to comment.
