The Wolesi Jirga Secretariat Director Khudai Nazar Nasrat was suspended and referred to the Attorney General Office (AGO) today over the charges of corruption and illegal appointments, the investigative commission announced.
Wolesi Jirga (lower house of the parliament) earlier tasked members of five permanent commission of the house to scrutinise allegations of corruption and illegal appointments against the director of secretariat and present the result to the house in three days.
First Deputy Speaker Humayon Humayon earlier referred the lower house secretariat head to the attorney office over alleged embezzlement and illegal appointments, a charged the head secretary already rejected.
Erfanullah Erfan, head of the investigative commission, announced suspension of secretariat director job, return of 5.3 million Afs by the speaker back to the account of the lower house and banned on first and deputy speakers for 10 to 17 days from attending the proceeding of the house.
