At least eight people were killed and 25 wounded after a magnetic IED was detonated against a fuel tanker in Charikar, provincial capital of Parwan province.
Media reported that Khalil Mosadeq, the provincial health director, confirmed the casualty toll.
Preliminary reports indicated the explosive device was detonated when a passenger bus was alongside the tanker.
The incident happened around 7 pm today.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
