Doctors and paramedics in Kunduz have gone on strike against alleged ineffectiveness of the security officials following the kidnapping of a doctor’s minor son.
Unknown armed men kidnapped son of Dr. Satar Ghafoori four days ago.
Doctors and paramedics boycotted duty and gathered in front of the zonal hospital.
Latif Sharifi, a striking doctor, told media that last year there were five incidents of doctors’ child abduction but they were all released in exchange for money.
He warned doctors would not return to work until the boy was released.
Meanwhile Abdul Hamid Hamidi, chief of Kunduz police, said that they have started efforts to rescue the boy.
