Local officials in Faryab said that a 20-year old girl hanged herself to death in Khancharbagh district.
Zortaj Yemaq Khaliqi, district governor of Khancharbagh, said that Shakera hanged herself last night.
She added that the cause of her death has not been ascertained but her family claimed she had mental problems.
Khaliqi further stated that her body has been sent for forensic to Andkhoi district.
It is reported that 23 cases of suicide and murder among girls and women have been registered in the province since March 2017.
