Farah provincial council reported that 15 army soldiers were killed in the province.
Jamial Amini, head of Farah provincial council, told Killid that Taliban militants launched attacks on police check posts in Belandi area of Poshtroad district last night.
Amini accused provincial police chief and governor of weakness and inability to ensure security in the province.
Meanwhile Nasir Mehre, provincial governor spokesman, confirmed Taliban attacks on the check posts and added that 17 Taliban insurgents were also killed and a number of them were injured. He added that nine army soldiers were killed and four injured during the clashes.
