Local officials in Herat reported that Mullah Abdul Haq, a prominent Taliban commander, was arrested in the province. Jailani Farhad, spokesman for Herat governor, told Killid that the commander along with his two fighters was arrested in a joint military operation of Afghan forces in Kerkh district. Farhad added that Mullah Abdul Haq was in charge of Taliban military commission in the district. Taliban militants are yet to comment.
