Owen Jenkins, UK’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, met with Afghan National Security Advisor (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar and stressed on the fight against terrorism in Afghanistan and the region. A press release from National Security Council (NSC) stated that Jenkins praised Afghan security forces’ will in the fight against terrorism. The statement added that Jenkins expressed hope for the fourth round of quadrilateral meeting on the Afghan peace process. The statement quoting Atmar stated that Afghan security forces will wipe out hideouts of terrorist groups. Jenkins is expected to visit Islamabad and hold talks with Pakistani officials on Kabul-Islamabad relations and stability in the region.
