CPAG: Civilians’ Casualties Decline in September

A report from the Civilian Protection Advocacy Group (CPAG) shows decline in civilian casualties during the month of September generally while two-fold decline happened compared to previous months. According to the report, around 241 people suffered casualties with 101 of them martyred and 140 others injured including women and children in September. Of the fatalities, 29 people martyred and 16 others wounded in Nangarhar province, according to CPAG that said most of the casualties caused in targeted killing while clashes between the Afghan forces and the Taliban was the second major source of casualties. CPAG said that the casualties happened in 15 provinces of the country while the rest of other provinces were stable compare to past months. CPAG expressed concern over civilian casualties and said both war and humanitarian laws were violated during the ongoing conflict. The group once again voiced on the government and militants to observe war rules and avoid causing casualties to civilians.
