Local officials in Ghoor province said that clearing operations have been launched to crack down on armed anti-government groups in Ghalamen areas of the province. Abdulhai Khatebe, spokesman for Ghoor governor, told Killid that the operations were launched yesterday. Khatebe added that Taliban insurgents had laid mines on the area thus the operation goes on slowly. Khatebe further stated that Taliban use civilian’s houses as a shield and therefore they cannot conduct air strikes in the area. Ghalamen area has collapsed to Taliban insurgents since last month.
