Tourism Day Celebrated in Kabul

Second Vice President Mohammad Sarwar Danish said that tourism has bloomed in Afghanistan. Marking the World Tourism Day in Kabul yesterday, Danish said that 221,000 foreign tourists visited Afghanistan last year. Danish asserted that in order to change the negative mentality about Afghanistan, we must look at tourism industry in the country in a different way. Danish added that last year more than one million people visited Babur Garden and Qargha Lake in Kabul and some two millions visited Herat, Balkh, Bamyan, Ghazni and Kandahar provinces. Statistics of Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) shows that last year Afghanistan generated 25 million USD revenue from the tourism industry.
