Kabul police said that clashes are ongoing between Afghan security forces and insurgents in vicinity of Baran Camp. Basir Mujahid, spokesman for Kabul police, told Killid that several rockets were fired at Hamid Karzai International Airport while several militants entered two buildings close to the camp and started firing. Mujahid added that the number of attackers are yet to be known but security forces are in the scene and one of the building has been cleared of insurgents. He did not provide details of casualties. Baran Camp is located close to Hamid Karzai International Airport. This comes just hours after US Secretary of Defense James Mattis and NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg arrived unannounced in Kabul for talks with Afghan officials.
