Security officials in Maidan Wardak province said that 12 Taliban insurgents were injured in a night operation conducted by Afghan security forces. Naqeb Amini, spokesman for Maidan Wardak police, told Killid that Maulavi Aminullah, Taliban shadow district governor for Nerkh district, along with 11 fighters were injured. He added that a commander of Taliban was killed during the operation. Amini further stated that at least 50 Taliban insurgents were either killed or injured in Afghan security forces’ operations over the past 30 days. There were no casualties among Afghan security forces. Taliban militants are yet to comment on the statement.
