The Albanian government is willing to send more troops to Afghanistan, thus enhancing its military representation in international missions, a press statement from the Albanian Ministry of Defense said Saturday. “Albania is about to send more troops in response to the requirement of US President Donald Trump for a new strategy on Afghanistan,” Albania’s newly appointed Defense Minister Olta Xhacka told visiting Chairman of the NATO Military Committee Petr Pavel. On his part, Pavel highly evaluated Albania’s contribution to the NATO missions, especially in Afghanistan and in fight against terrorism.
