Taliban Attack Nuristan’s Barg-e-Matal District, 16 Insurgents Killed

Local officials in Nuristan said that dozens of Taliban insurgents attacked Barg-e-Matal district around 4 am today and clashed with security forces. Hafiz Abdul Qayyum, provincial governor, said that 16 Taliban insurgents have been killed and the clashes are ongoing. Qayyum added that three security force members have been injured. The governor asserted that they have asked for reinforcements from Selab 201 Corps. Taliban militants are yet to comment on the incident.
