Saddudin Shapoon, famous Pashto writer, died in US last night. Shapoon was born in Kunduz’s Khanabad district on 1933. The 84-year-old wrote a number of novels, short stories and hundreds of comedy strips. He also worked for Voice of America Pashto service for over 20 years and was a veteran announcer. Shapoon’s body will be brought back to Afghanistan so he can be buried in his homeland.
