Poppy cultivation has increased in Baghlan province. Nizamuddin Nizam, provincial counter-narcotics department head, said that 850 hectares of lands have been cultivated poppy, registering a six-fold increase compared to last year’s. He stressed that the illegal crop had been grown in areas under Taliban dominance.
