Afghan Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced that 1171 Daesh militants were killed, more than 72 injured and 12 arrested over the past six months throughout the country. Dowlat Waziri, spokesman for MoD, said among those killed were 218 commanders. Daesh militants began their insurgency almost two years ago in Achin, Haska Mina, and some other districts of Nangarhar. According to the reports, the group has also presence in some districts of Jawzjan. Waziri added that prominent commanders of Daesh such as Hafiz Sayed, Abdul Haseeb, Shahedullah Shaheed, Gul Zaman, and Abdul Rawouf were consecutively killed in Afghanistan.
