At least 16 civilians and eight Taliban insurgents were killed in an airstrike conducted by Afghan National Army (ANA) in Shendand district of Herat. A reliable security source speaking on the condition of anonymity told Killid that the strike was conducted by ANA in Bakht Abad area of the district. Meanwhile residents of the area told Killid that 16 civilians including women and children were killed and four injured in the strike. Killid tried to interview ANA officials in Herat but no information was made available.
