At least 13 people were killed and 19 injured yesterday evening when a suicide car bomber struck an Afghan army convoy in Helmand province. Omar Zowak, spokesman for Helmand governor, said that the attack took place in Dwa Pula area of Nawa district, killing 13 civilians including army personnel and wounding 19 civilians. Zowak, however, did mention how many security personnel or civilians were injured. Meanwhile a doctor at the provincial Emergency Hospital in Lashkargah, the provincial capital, confirmed receiving 13 dead bodies and 30 injured people from the scene. No group has claimed responsibility.
