Local officials in Nangarhar reported that Afghan National Army (ANA) field intelligence director was killed by unknown gunmen. Ataullah Khogyani, spokesman for Nangarhar governor, told Killid that ANA field intelligence director was gunned down yesterday evening when he was on his way to a mosque. He added that the gunmen fled the area and police have launched an investigation. Earlier Taleban insurgents killed an Islamic scholar in Behsod district.
