Security officials in Uruzgan and Faryab provinces reported that 29 armed anti-government fighters were either killed or injured. A press release from Public Order Police stated that four insurgents were killed and six injured in a roadside mine blast in Dahrawad district of Uruzgan. The statement added that four armed insurgents were killed and 15 injured in a clearing operation codenamed ‘Nawed 2’ in Khuja Sabzposh district of Faryab. Taleban militants are yet to comment on the statement.
