Security officials in Balkh said that heavy fighting is ongoing in Chamtal and Charbolak districts to clear the areas of Taleban insurgents. According to the reports, the fight was started on Saturday morning and Taleban has suffered heavy losses. Ata Mohammad Noor, provincial governor, has reportedly taken part in the operation. Charbolak and Chamtal are disturbed districts of Balkh where Taleban insurgents are actively operating.
