President Ashraf Ghani condemned last night’s bombing at the Jawadia Mosque in Bekr Abad area in Herat city in the strongest terms. A press release from ARG (Presidential Palace) stated that Ghani said insurgents would not succeed in fueling sectarian wars in the country by conducting such attacks. At least 29 people were killed and over 60 injured when a suicide bomber opened fire on worshippers inside the mosque before detonating his explosives. No group has claimed responsibility yet.
