Officials at Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoI) said that Afghan National Police and Afghan National Army launched large-scale counterinsurgency joint operation in Surobi district of Paktika province. A press release from MoI stated that 60 Taleban insurgents were killed and 40 injured. The statement added that eight vehicles, 14 motorcycles, one machine gun and some amount of ammunition belonging to the armed Taleban were also destroyed during the operation. The statement further stated that six Taleban insurgents were killed in Jani Khail district of Paktia. Taleban militants are yet to comment on the statement.
