Salvin: Afghan Air Force Conduct Over 1,000 Airstrikes This Year

The NATO Resolute Support (RS) hailed the bravery and skill of Afghan National Defence and Security Forces (ANDSF) and said that they have conducted more than 1,000 airstrikes this year. NATO Spokesman Bill Salvin said the Afghan security forces faced a patient, determined and ruthless enemy who did not make difference between civilian and military targets. He added that Afghan Air Force (AAF) have conducted more than 1,000 airstrikes this year and provided critical support to ANDSF troops on the ground. Salvin assured NATO full support to ANDSF and said they would continue their training, advice and assistance support to the Afghan forces. Salvin further stated that Taleban only controlled the area where 11 percent population of Afghans lived. He claimed Afghan security forces control of territory was home to 66 percent of Afghanistan’s population, while 23 percent was contested.
