Local officials in Uruzgan said that over 1,000 war-displaced families were given aid in central Uruzgan province yesterday. Esmatullah Faiz, head of provincial disaster management department, said that the aid included rice, ghee, tea, salt, and beans. He added that about 1,091 families identified through a survey were given the food items. It is reported that recent insecurity and clashes in Trinkot, provincial capital of Uruzgan, and districts have rendered more than 10,000 families homeless.
