The NATO-led Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in Afghanistan said that an investigation has been launched to probe killing and injuring of 17 Afghan policemen in Helmand airstrike. A meeting chaired by Hayatullah Hayat, Helmand governor, was held in Shaheen 215 Corps in presence of members of provincial council, security officials and foreign forces. A press release from Helmand governor’s office stated that Mark Toner, commander of the American-led international military force in Afghanistan, said that an investigation has been launched to further probe the American strike which happened late Friday afternoon in Greshk district. The statement added that Hayat cautioned foreign forces to prevent such incident in other provinces. An American airstrike in Helmand killed 15 members of the Afghan security forces on Friday.
