Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoI) said that reports as many as 130 pro-government uprising members have joined Taleban in Kohistan district of Faryab is baseless and far from reality. A press release from MoI stated that no pro-government uprising members have joined Taleban in the district. The statement added that earlier some media quoting provincial police spokesman reported that 130 uprising fighters surrendered to Taleban after fall of Kohistan district centre. MoI stressed reinforcements have been deployed to the district and an operation will soon be launched to recapture the district. Two days ago, the Taleban took control of Kohistan district of northern Faryab after heavy clashes.
