Security officials in Paktia said that Taleban militants launched coordinated attacks on police check posts in Janekhail district last night. They said that security forces pushed back the Taleban attack. Toryalai Obaidyani, chief of Paktia police, told Killid that 11 Taleban insurgents were killed and five injured. He did not give figure of Afghan security forces’ casualties but asserted that the situation is normal now. Meanwhile Taleban claimed that they have captured a number of check posts in the district. Two days ago, the Taleban took control of Kohistan district of northern Faryab and Taywara district of western Ghor province after heavy clashes.
