Mullah Miraj, Taleban shadow governor for Ghor province, was killed in clashes with Afghan Security forces in Pasaband district. Mohammad Iqbal Nizame, spokesman for Ghor police, said that heavy fighting has been going on between Afghan security forces and Taleban over the past two days. Nizame added that Mullah Rahmatullah, a prominent Taleban member, and his five fighters were killed in airstrikes conducted by Afghan forces. Nizame further stated that five policemen were killed and 10 injured. Taleban militants are yet to comment on the incident.
