At least 78 Taleban insurgents were killed in joint military operations conducted by Afghan security forces over the past three days in Shendand district of Herat. A press release from Herat governor’s office stated that 15 Taleban insurgents were killed and 13 injured in clashes with security forces yesterday. The statement added that 37 Taleban insurgents were killed and 40 injured over the past three days. The statement further stated that six civilians including three children were also killed. Taleban militants are yet to comment on the statement.
