Local officials in Bamyan said that Taleban shadow district governor for Tala and Barfak district of Baghlan jointed peace process in the province.

Taleban Shadow District Governor Joins Peace Process in Bamyan

Local officials in Bamyan said that Taleban shadow district governor for Tala and Barfak district of Baghlan joined the peace process in the province. A press release from Bamyan police stated that 12 Taleban insurgents led by Qari Wakel, Taleban shadow district governor for Tala and Barfak district, joined the peace process. The statement added that they also handed over a number of military equipment. It is reported that this is the first time that an insurgent group join peace process in Bamyan.
