At least eight Taleban insurgents were killed and four injured in clashes with Afghan security forces in Jaldez district of Maidan Wardak province. Naqeb Amini, spokesman for Maidan Wardak police, said that Taleban converged police checkpoints on Jaldez-Maidan Wardak highway yesterday. He added that the attack was repulsed by security forces. Amini further stated that one local policeman was also injured. Taleban militants are yet to comment on the incident.
