The first phase of Citizen Charter Programme (CCP) began in Uruzgan province. The programme was replaced with National Solidary Programme (NSP) under Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD). Nazir Ahmad Kharote, governor of Uruzgan who participated in the programme’s inauguration ceremony, said that the programme would succeed if the public cooperated in its implementation and transparency. He added that 400 councils have been created under the programme in Trinkot, provincial capital, and a number of districts. Meanwhile Niaz Mohammad Haqmal, provincial head of MRRD, said that CCP aims to reduce poverty, provide job opportunities, access healthcare, education, and services. He hoped that the programme would soon solve rural residents’ problems.
