At least five prominent Daesh militants were killed in a US airstrike in Qosh Tapa district yesterday. Mohammad Reza Ghafoori, spokesman for Jawzjan police, said that among those killed is Qari Hizbullah, deputy of the group as well. Ghafoori added that those killed were key members of Daesh involved in several terrorist attacks in the province. He further stated that the group may no longer pose a serious threat to the security of the province. Darzab and Qosh Tapa are disturbed districts of Jawzjan where armed insurgents are actively operating.
